The Real Gilligan's Island - Episode Three
It's water, water everywhere on this episode of The Real Gilligan's Island when the Gingers and the Gilligans face-off. As the show opens, the Gingers shower and sun on the beach for relaxation to gear up for their coming competition, while Millionaires Glenn and Mindy Stearns revel in having their hut to themselves. "I got the best sleep since this craziness began because the Beavens were not in the huts," beams Millionaire Glenn.

Meanwhile, in Gilligan Chris's hut, he and Mary Ann Kate feel the effects of their cocktails the night before. Millionaire Glenn tries to get Gilligan Chris to share exactly what happened between the two lovebirds, but is unsuccessful. "I don't kiss and tell, but in this situation nothing happened, so there was nothing to tell," shrugs Gilligan Chris.

The radio alerts the castaways to head to the Lagoon for their next challenge. "I'm excited for the 'Ginger' competition. It can't be one team that wins all the way across the line. The odds--it's just close to impossible," says Ginger Nicole. The teams meet host Scott Lasky to learn that Ginger Rachel and Ginger Nicole must dive for oysters-- filled with rocks, pearls or nothing--to collect fifteen pearls to string together and hang around their necks. The Gingers are aided by the Gilligans who will open the oysters as they dive.

Ginger Rachel worries about her ability, given Ginger Nicole's experience with her former television show, Baywatch. In addition, she is concerned about a physical limitation that would keep her from diving deep. "Those shells are so deep, and I can't go that deep because my ears really hurt. It's been a problem with me since I was a kid," she says. The two wish each other luck and commence to dive. "If I had my choice of challenges, I would have picked this one. I definitely have more experience with water and I'm the stronger swimmer," says Ginger Nicole confidently. The Gingers are neck and neck until both begin experiencing some difficulty. "I figured I'd go deep first since I had enough breath but that's when my ears started crackling and really starting bothering me," laments Ginger Rachel. Ginger Nicole, who slows down because she is out of breath, admits, "I was surprised at how much out of breath I was. The other team has won every challenge and gotten meals--that makes a HUGE difference." The Gold Team tries to cheer on Ginger Rachel to keep her spirits up, but it makes her nervous, so she asks them to stop.

Ginger Rachel gets her fifteen pearls first and begins to string them. Still in need of one more, Ginger Nicole is not defeated, saying, "When Rachel got up on the platform to start stringing her pearls, I wanted to keep going because I know I was shaky and thought that maybe she was shaky too. I mean, what if she dropped them all?," she says. In the end, Ginger Rachel is victorious and Ginger Nicole is banished to the other side of the island. The teams congratulate both Gingers, knowing that each worked as hard as she could, and realizing that it was the luck of the draw. Some oysters were going to have pearls and others would not. "I was really surprised that I ended up winning, because diving is not my forté, and those shells were DEEP," admits Ginger Rachel. Ginger Nicole accepts defeat graciously, saying, "I was really weak from not eating, but I don't want to take away from Rachel or make excuses because we had a battle and she prevailed. Actresses can tough it out with the rest of them, even though we are pampered and spoiled, we can do it too."

The winning team, Team Gold, learns that they have a classic movie, popcorn, soda and chocolate to claim as their prize, while Gilligan Gooner and Skipper Jim go back to their usual evening of searching for fruit. When they return from the Lagoon, Mary Ann Kate, the Millionaires Stearns and Gilligan Chris discuss an alliance in the comforts of the plunge pool. "When we get down to one set of castaways, it'll be every man for himself so it might be time to start forming alliances," speculates Millionaire Glenn. Gilligan Chris has the additional worry of his competition that looms ahead. "Everyone is relieved except for myself; I still have my competition coming up. I just hope we can pull it off."

Later, as Ginger Rachel and Millionaire Glenn get excited about the night's snacks, Ginger Rachel recalls that Mary Ann Kate had been guarding crackers that were left in hers and Mary Ann Amanda's baskets. Island fever ensues when Ginger Rachel confronts Mary Ann Kate about the crackers and Mary Ann Kate counters back by asking Ginger Rachel if she'd, in fact, eaten them. "Me eating the crackers without sharing when I gave Gilligan Gooner and Ginger Nicole my banana and apple? I don't think I would be questioning anybody if I did it. When you've been given something to take care of in case the team members get hungry, it's a big responsibility," Ginger Rachel fires back.

The dust settles long enough for Team Gold to enjoy their film --1932's Robinson Crusoe--while Gilligan Gooner and Skipper Jim amuse themselves with some practical jokes. Gilligan Gooner brings the "full moon" to Team Gold's movie night while Skipper Jim laughs and looks on with a cigar he finds on the beach. Once Gilligan Gooner pulls up his pants, he and Skipper Jim pull another prank by making a doll dressed in gold--to burn in effigy. Being good sports, everyone from Team Gold laughs along except Gilligan Chris. "I'm feeling a little bit of the pressure, because I'd be the only one from my team to get eliminated if that was to happen," he admits. Once Ginger Rachel and Millionaire Glenn return from Voodoo Village with the Gilligan dolls, the two seek encouragement--Gilligan Chris from Mary Ann Kate and Gilligan Gooner from Skipper Jim. "Gilligan Gooner needs this win not only for self-confidence and his character but because Team Green needs the win," says Skipper Jim. "I'm like a bad case of hemorrhoids--I'm going to stick around for a while," says Gilligan Gooner confidently.

The morning of the Gilligans' competition, Millionaires Glenn and Mindy and Professor Pat are unlucky at fishing while the guys get ready for the challenge ahead. Gilligan Gooner puts his plan into motion by telling Mary Ann Kate he doesn't feel well so that she would relay the message to Gilligan Chris, thus allowing him to believe he has the physical advantage. Sure enough, Mary Ann Kate shares what she hears with Gilligan Chris who is determined to stay on the island--with Mary Ann Kate. Mary Ann Kate echoes his sentiments saying, "I'd be devastated if Gilligan Chris leaves the island so I'll do anything to keep him here." Once Gilligan Gooner shares his strategy with Ginger Rachel, she admits that Mary Ann Kate is just selfish enough to do what Gilligan Gooner suspects, after their previous tiff about the crackers. "I think Mary Ann Kate is somewhat shady, and if I had to vote anyone off, it would definitely be her," she says.

Once the group gets their message from the radio, they go to the beach to meet host Scott Lasky for directions on the final head-to-head competition. The host explains that each Gilligan must collect buckets of water--obtained from spigots pouring over spinning chairs the two sit in--and then pour it into two bins hanging from a scale. Gilligan Chris gets a system in place for collecting a lot of water and, despite a few spins off the chair, is able to run it to the bins. Meanwhile, Gilligan Gooner is repeatedly thrown off the chair and hindered from getting water because of the interference of his long legs. When the clock runs down, the Gilligans are asked to remove the stands from under the bins to determine whose will tip the scale. Gilligan Chris collected the most water, making him the last of the final castaways. Skipper Jim becomes the sole-survivor of the Green Team, and Gilligan Gooner is banished to the other side of the island.

As the rain begins to fall hard, the final seven--no longer separated by Gold or Green team ribbons--return to their huts to find bedding, clothes and other comforts, including a feast of lobster, corn and more. The former Gold Team welcomes Skipper Jim before host Scott Lasky interrupts dinner to tell the group that the rules of the game are about to change. While the group tries to digest the new information--and their feast--they receive an emergency message from the radio to evacuate their huts due to an approaching hurricane.

What new challenges do the final castaways face? Will they be left with anything when the storm settles? Find out on the next episode of The Real Gilligan's Island!
