Season 1: Episode 5: The Power of Female Sex
When Carrie's credit card is chopped up during an experiment in creative shoe shopping, she's saved by a wealthy Italian gal pal. Back in the comforts of home--with her gift shoes and faced with a pile of bills--Carrie ponders what life would be like with a sugar daddy. Later, Carrie hosts a poker night, in hopes of winning some money from her friends. The girls debate the merits of using female sexuality to obtain power (one guess as to Samantha's position on this).
Carrie's Italian friend soon introduces her to a gorgeous French architect, but their romantic first date turns from fantastic to surreal when he shows his thanks for a night of passion by leaving a thousand dollars on the nightstand. Again, Samantha pushes for Carrie to keep the money, while Miranda argues that taking money for sex makes her a whore. If you can't trust your friends to be honest, who can you trust?
Meanwhile, the rest of the girls each face their own feminine power struggles. Charlotte is asked to pose for a famous painter, who could become a big client with the right persuasion. Unfortunately, he wants her to pose for his own on-canvas version of "The Vagina Monologues." Miranda has to let down the obsessive Skipper when his passion for her becomes, well, annoying. And Samantha realizes that there's one person her feminine wiles have no effect on: the female hostess at the prestigious restaurant, Balzac.
In the end, Carrie turns her back on life as a high-priced call girl, choosing morals over money. She also does a favor for the snotty hostess, ensuring that her friends will never have to wait for a table at Balzac again.
